After the 2008 recession, most boat manufacturers moved away from building true 19-foot, 100% ski boats and shifted toward larger 20-foot “family ski boats.”
With more length, more volume, and more weight, these boats required bigger engines — moving from 5.0–5.3L platforms to 6.0L and even 6.2L engines just to maintain tournament speeds of 36 mph / 58 km/h.
The result: heavier boats, bigger engines, higher fuel consumption, and prices that have more than doubled in less than 10 years — with many new ski boats now averaging over $110,000 USD.

Alahua Boats presents its first prototype: Pista01 — a true 100% slalom ski boat engineered to be approximately 20% lighter than current market alternatives.
Built around performance, efficiency, and simplicity, Pista introduces several key innovations:
Central driving position
Improves visibility, balance, and tracking, with space for the pilot and two passengers.
A traditional right-hand driving configuration will also be available in 2027.
Dual side-mounted fuel tanks
Designed for better balance, faster acceleration, and reduced wake.
Lower operating RPM
Pista runs approximately 400 RPM lower than comparable boats, helping deliver:
- Longer engine life
- Lower fuel consumption
- Faster acceleration
- Exceptionally soft wake
Starting at $89,000 USD
- Zero Off
- PCM 5.3L H5 Engine, 355 HP, 405 lb-ft torque
Optional equipment:
- Sure-Path
- Trailer
- Hard Top
Production:
After validating the Pista01 prototype in 2025, Alahua has started production of Pista02 and Pista03, scheduled for delivery before August 2026.
